Trace Boxes

Objects fixed in epoxide resin From ‘Trace Boxes’ series – work in progress.
The project is about the continuance and the inalterability. Whether it is possible.
Even though something is ‘preserved’ and frozen and seems to be permanent, is it permanent, inalterable and defined once and for all? Trace Boxes project is a reference to memory and perception with a desire to preserve the moment. The work strives to keep the trace of a human touch as well as display the inability to do so. It is a desire to freeze fleeting moments in time, to pull things out of context, to abstract them and leave them inalterable. Objects fixed in epoxide resin – a time clock alludes to the conversation between Mephistopheles and Doctor Faustus, where Devil uses the expression ‘We sell the time’.
An apple alludes to the fairy tale ‘Snow White’ of Grimm Brothers. Fern Flower is a reference to Slavic mythology.
